Remembrance across our funeral homes

In honour of Remembrance Day, our funeral homes up and down the UK have been busy creating beautiful and poignant window displays to honour those who have fallen.

Some highlights were W. Storey in Guisborough who wanted to involve the younger generation in an act of reflection and respect. They reached out to Laurence Jackson Secondary School, inviting students to create artwork to display in their branch window. W Storey received a stunning collection of work commemorating those who served and sacrificed, displayed throughout the remembrance period.

The team at Personal Choice in St Austell and Par decorated all three of their branches in honour of Remembrance Day, with their Alexandra Road branch holding a tribute to local hero Harry Billinge MBE who was a solider who served as a sapper during the Normandy landings and had fundraised for more than 60 years for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Over in Hastings, there was even a visit from a furry friend, Teddy, whose owner has used Banfield and Pomphrey in the past. Animals such as horses and dogs were often used in the war, so let us also remember the animals who lost their lives too during the war.

Thank you to our hardworking teams for putting together these lovely displays and please join us in remembering all those who have served and sacrificed their lives this Remembrance Day.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.
