Teams from James & Thomas Funeral Directors and Woking Funeral Service joined forces to gift flowers to local women.

Staff hand-delivered over 150 colourful blooms to residents from five different care homes in and around Surrey, Princess Christian Care Home, Woking.

Springfield Care Home in Cobham, Dene Place in West Horsley, Queen Elizabeth Care Home in Guildford and Rodwell Farm Nursing Home in Addlestone

Those with children were given the flowers in celebration of Mother’s Day and, those without, to mark International Women’s Day.

The residents and funeral teams also got to see some belly dancing after the flowers were handed out at Princess Christian Care Centre.

Deputy Regional Development Director James Ray said: “The day was a massive success, never would I have anticipated such a warm welcome from each of the care homes.

“I would like to say an enormous well done to everyone who got involved and helped to bring so many smiles to the ladies who received flowers.

“This will definitely become a yearly occurrence, but next year we will have double the amount of flowers!”
