Funeral Director’s Barry Normington and Chris Cook along with Funeral partners Area Development Manager Keith Clegg were accompanied by Katie Collinson from Yorkshire Air Ambulance as they presented a cheque for funds raised during a recent promotion by Choice Funeral Plans that ran within three Funeral Partners branches, Huddersfield Funeral Home, Wakefield Funeral Services and Slaithwaite Funeral Services.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is a charity that relies on donations from organisations and individuals to help save lives across Yorkshire.

The Choice team were delighted to present the Air Ambulance with £1500 to go towards their fantastic work to support and save lives in Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

As a charity, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance only receives help through secondment of paramedics from the NHS, through Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of Yorkshire’s air ambulances in the air they need to raise £12,000 per day. This is equivalent to £4.4 million per year.
As a rapid response air emergency service the Charity serves a population of approximately 5 million people across 4 million acres.

Their two Air Ambulances operate from The Nostell Priory Estate near Wakefield and RAF Topcliffe near Thirsk, and together both Air Ambulances cover the whole of the region.
